“When someone is acting difficult to love that usually means they are needing it terribly.”

Margaret Anne Huffman – Author

When someone is cranky or bitter about something, or just plain old hard to deal with, there is a very good underlying reason for the way they are acting.  It is in those moments that they need our encouragement, or smile, or maybe even a hug.  It’s hard to hug the unhuggable sometimes, but they are the ones who do need it the most and for a very good reason.

This is very uncanny. I was thinking the exact same thing this very morning. You are so right on, Tony. May God put it in each of our hearts to love the unlovable with His purity and grace and steadfastness.

Oh so true, my friend! I am a hugger – brought up that way. Some people don’t like to be hugged but they are the ones that need it the most. Lol! Lovely post!

  5. I love this quote you shared, Tony! I find this to be true with my kids: whichever one is acting the worst needs me to show them the most love–which can be hard!!

Lately, though, I’ve experienced it from the other side, where I am the one who has fallen short or who has been irritable to my husband or to my children and what I really need is forgiveness and unconditional love, even though I don’t deserve it 🙂

  6. Thanks Errolyn! Yes you are right. It does go both ways sometimes.
