WHAT ARE THESE BIRDS?

This past summer I took this photo of some birds while I was at a local dam area in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Does anyone know what type of birds the black birds are or anything about them?

I wish they were closer, bigger for a better view. They appear to be similar to Puffins, but that’s the wrong part of the hemisphere. Puffins are found in Northern Alaska, Canada, and the Arctic areas.

my significant other, said they be Cormorants. As a sailing race yachting around the world once type of person, I would imagine him to be correct. Did I say once… as if that wasn’t enough.

  4. These are one of my most favorite water birds! Cormorants are beautiful. I once tried getting close enough to a tree full of them. Mind you the tree was near the lake’s edge. I was dive bombed from the water splashing in my face and hair. Oh, it was a funny and I was laughing! I never got my photo. Thanks you visiting and liking my blog Remember. Thanks for the follow too!
