Have you ever wondered why the windshield in your car is much bigger than the rear view mirror ? Do you think it might just be that it is more important to look where you are going rather than where you have been? That’s not to say that where you have been is not important as well in that we should try to learn from what we have done or where we have been.
From a health standpoint I am much happier now with where I am headed now than where I was before my widow maker heart attack that happened a few years ago. Today I am much more aware of what stress, bad eating habits, and lack of exercise can do to one of the most important organs in the human body. Several signs were there along the way that something very troubling was headed my way. My body was speaking to me the best way it knew how but I was not paying any attention and just kept driving down the highway. Don’t do like I did. It is true that one in two survive the widow maker. I am one of the fortunate ones that lived to tell about it.
I can’t look in the rear view mirror at where I was or what I did. All I can do now is look through the front windshield and drive forward the best way I know how with what I have learned. GOD gave me a second chance and I think he didn’t want me to squander away the time I have left on this earth. I thank him for giving me the chance to tell others my story. I suppose it’s okay to look in the rear view mirror, but don’t spend so much time looking back that you can’t see what’s in front of you.
There are days I get kind of down about what happened and having heart disease now but I can’t lose site of the bigger picture in life. There are reasons all of us are placed where we are on this earth. The times and places for all of us are already planned out. So keep driving forward but don’t look back too often!
